It was Gabe’s and my pleasure to enjoy many dinners and great conversations with David and his dearest, best friend, Ruth, his traveling buddy.

David had more than his share of health issues, but that never seemed to stop his zest to learn and pursue in depth new areas of life. I would say most of us would fall short if measured against him. With that said, I note that he was not god -like or perfect ,but a friend. John Hangartner, ex-brother-in-law.

Besides being the godfather of my son and a truly good friend, David was a master of curiosity. His curiosity spanned many genres mainly in the natural world, and he knew more than most on subjects spanningFrom flight to entomology, woodworking to musicianship, and so many subjects beyond. Our engaging conversations (Sometimes debates) will be sorely missed! Thank you for being a part of our lives we are the richer for it! You’ll be fondly remembered We love and miss you De De .
